CANDIDATES CHOOSE STAFFING COMPANIES BASED ON QUALITY, VARIETY OF POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Survey conducted by Todays Staffing measures candidate perceptions and preferences

DALLAS – (November 28, 2006) – Todays Staffing Inc., (Todays) a subsidiary of staffing and outsourcing leader CDI Corporation, announces the results of their 2006 Candidate Survey from early October. This survey is conducted to stay abreast of trends in the talent marketplace, and determine what drives candidate selection of a staffing company. Approximately 35,000 candidates received the survey, and it had more than a five percent (5.54 percent) response rate.

The most notable finding from the research is 69 percent of respondents indicated that the feature they are looking for the most when choosing a staffing company, is the quality of available positions or variety of positions available. Only a small percentage of candidates indicated that benefits such as holiday pay, insurance benefits, or additional value-adds were the reason they chose a firm. Some additional key findings include:

  • Workforce demographics are changing. From 2005 to 2006, the 41-54 aged candidate group grew by four percent, and was the largest group of candidates in the pool at 32 percent. The 55+ age group grew by nearly three percent, and the 18-25, 26-32 and 33-40 age groups decreased by a total of six percent in the same time period reinforcing that the workforce is aging as expected.

  • Ninety percent of Todays Staffing candidates indicated Todays placed them in an average or better match to the position they desired. Additionally, 85 percent of respondents state they are satisfied with the placement process, and 89 percent say Todays’ online application process is average or better.

  • When compared to the 2005 survey, Todays’ overall reputation in the marketplace grew sharply growing with 81% of respondents ranking Todays as average or better this year, compared to 69% of respondents giving Todays the same rating in 2005.

  • Additionally, one third of Todays candidates (36 percent) do not work for other staffing services, reinforcing the reality that not all services staff from exactly the same candidate pool.

“We are in the business of helping people find the right job, and according to the survey, our candidates say we are doing a very good job,” says Todays Staffing President, Dan Neuburger. “Specifically, they want good pay and a good match to the position they desire, and Todays does both of these things well according to the results. We take our candidates’ feedback very seriously so we can maintain the 96 percent satisfaction rating we’ve received from our clients with the quality of people we place.”

Todays Staffing will conduct this survey on a yearly basis to continuously monitor the marketplace and develop the most valuable programs for both candidates and clients.
